I mentioned I started golf in April? Well we took it to the course Sunday May 11 (Mother's Day). We started pretty late about 6pm at Rocky Point Golf course which is around the corner from my house. Some beautiful weather framed some ugly golf. Actually I only lost 4 or 5 balls, which I think was pretty good. A couple of holes actually looked like we were playing real golf. It was fun although the late start only let us play 10 holes which was enough. We will see how next time goes.

Beach and AC
We took a trip to my parents place in Bethany Beach, De. We then took the ferry to Cape May and toured around there. This was my first time to Cape May and had a great time. We found a peanut butter shop which was really cool and met a woman originally from Essex working there. Then it was on to AC and the Revel. I had recently been to AC and the Revel, but my wife hadn't and she wanted to check it out. The last picture was from a huge liquor store in Rehoboth De, which I didn't get to visit this trip; although we went to every other outlet there and in AC.
Burgers with Bacon Onion Butter
This was a quick post with pictures of my Bacon Onion Butter burgers. The butter goes well with steak so I figured with Burgers it would work well. The pictures are out of sequence but you can see what I did. Half the ground beef on the press, a scope of butter, then the second half of the beef goes on the press and viola butter infused burgers.
Here is a recipe for onion butter but originally it was from the BBQ rubs, marinades and sauces book (my secret).

Talk at EVT
I spoke at a local High School May 9th. Eastern Tech is Baltimore County's answer to Poly. The students (juniors) were Engineering students on a college track. I didn't have much formally prepared except going over my path to Engineering and then my career. The students were prepared with question and they seemed very intelligent and ready to take their next step. I went over my education and jobs. One of the things I stressed it to make the most of your opportunities. No one is going to hand you anything but opportunities. Your job is to see them and take advantage of what you are presented. I had thought about exploring engineering as a sample project, but they were interested in what college classes are like and what to expect once there. I also took this time to stress getting along with your team and the importance of networking. As I left I offered to return to talk to other classes and I also asked the students to stay in touch with me as they move forward in their lives. It was fun and I really enjoyed talking to them and I hope they found my words helpful.
