Week 7/22 Update
We had a nice cookout at our house on the 21st. Really it was a dinner party for the young people in the family (which seemed to bother the older folks). We didnt take any pictures, but we did drink too much to make up for it. Anyway below are some pictures from fishing Sunday 7/22. the first blue fish of the year. I love catching blue fish; they are pound for pound the best fighting fish in the bay. I had hooked a drag pulling rock, but it got off at the boat for lack of a net. Its funny I looked at the net as I left the house, but of course I said I wouldn't catch anything that would justify needing a net.

Penn State's hears from the NCAA
This week Penn State got a punishment from the NCAA in the form of losing scholarships for football, a fine, loss of post season eligibility, and changed wins in the records. Much what I expected, but what I am disgusted by is the crying or upset Penn State students and fans. Most of the fans I know (alumni) understand the actions and are really reasonable about the outcome. Maybe it's the fact the people the media found or decided to air are just the ones with the emotional responses. Is it because they are young and naive or just immature? Either way their selfish attitude disgusts me. They claim the wrong doers are dead, going to jail or awaiting their day in court. The punishment should rest with them. Do they not understand the problem is bigger than those people, but lies with the culture that the institution created? That is what must be punished in addition to the people. See those crying students are the ones who empowered the criminal acts by (as I mentioned in previous posts) created this atmosphere that the football team and the coach are above the law and beyond reproach. If they hadn't been canonized they would have acted differently faced with the accusations. Only the empowering of these figures would allow someone to weigh justice for abuse victims over the reputation of a school. I only ask that this never happen at another institution and to achieve that the athletics departments (or any departments) must be help to higher standards with regard to personal conduct. Also no man or team should ever become a deity.

Coaming pads install step 1
So here are the coaming pads installed:
All I have left is adding the snaps. Here is the kit I had for years. Of course I only had 1 of the side of the button I needed. I did a trial on my prototype and it looks like its going to be easy.
Friday the 13th...Lucky?
So I got a late start. Aimed for 7 am launch. It was more like 9. Anyway I arrived at my first spot and it sounded like it was raining. Fish were breaking all around. I didn't even have a rod out. As soon as I grabbed one and threw a metal spoon in I got a fish. No exaggeration I caught fish from 9:30 until 11 only interruptions were to start my drift over. Even then I would leave a rod out and sort of troll and by the time I stopped I had a fish on. It was crazy. I caught rock fish from about 9" to 15", no keepers, but boy was it fun. My shoulder started to get tired. I actually caught 2 perch one 8" on a 6" lure, what was it thinking? After 11 I was still catching, but no every cast. The last fish of the day was a nice rock I caught on a buck-tail lure I made last fall. Why can't fishing be like this every trip?
Here are two selections 13" and 15" respectively.

Chili's Spicy Garlic and Lime Shrimp Recipe - Food.com
http://www.food.com/recipe/chilis-spicy-garlic-lime-shrimp-76470
Made this last week and it was great. Got everything from the new Harris Teeter in McHenry Row off Key Highway. Nice store. They have dry aged beef and a liquor store attached. They also had a lot of flies, but besides biting my legs they weren't so bad.
I pretty much followed the recipe except I put all the ingredients together and let the shrimp marinate for a half hour or so before sauteing.
